THE STORY BEHIND THE PAINTING:
There you are in your recently restored Victorian mansion sipping a deep red vintage claret as you wait impatiently for your lover to return from his latest hunt. You hope he has only been hunting quail as you continue to fondle your crystal goblet in contemplation of the vibrant site before you. It is the lavishly textured oil painting above your graciously decorated mantle that has sent you back in time to a place that you long to return - if only to savor one more time the sweet scent of flowers that adorned the balcony on which you reposed the night that you met HIM.
This painting which I titled, "Last Light, Lake Como" features abundant texture and the colors found at the end of day at that beautiful place in Italy that has been praised as the closest thing to paradise by authors such as Virgil, Tennyson and Hemingway. I tried to retain the feeling of paradise from the terrace of a formal garden filled with bright red flowers and overlooking serene Lake Como and the Alps. The painting measures 18x24 inches on linen, and is being sold unframed. It can be framed up to 24 x30 in a standard frame. The painting is signed on the front and comes with a certificate of authenticity as well.
