"Autumn Twilight on the Hudson River" ~ 2/25/08 Hudson River School Luminous Paintings by Connie Tom

I have done many studies of the Hudson River School masters and owe a deep gratitude to them for their wonderful work. For those of you who don't know, the Hudson River School was the first major art movement back in the 1800's. This was a study of one of Jasper Cropsey's originals. The HRS artists were known for their luminous landscapes of which color, light, mood and atmosphere were at the front. They all held the believe that nature was one of the ways God speaks to us. They seem to have brought energy and life to their paintings which is what I endeavor to do. Enjoy!

"For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eather: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. ~ Isaiah 55:10-11.
