5" x 6" ~ Watercolor on Paper Yes, another one of my pears. I can't resist them. They have so much to offer a visual artist. (Sorry to all of the other fruit varieties I've offended :~) This one isn't as plump as the others, possibly getting in shape for the summer. Please note the leaf. Even a dark brown leaf on a dark background can stand out if painted with just enough emphasis. It still needs to be brown, but using the highlights to make it stand out. Since this pear is so yellow/ripe, I put a bit of blue in the background as a nice compliment. I'm on to a larger size Iris painting for tomorrow's post.
