Walking along the trail at Malibu State Park you can see amazing scenes at every turn. This view in particular stopped me in my tracks. I was so struck by this vision, it held my gaze until I got to just the right place to record it. After one study in plein air, I decided to continue with a studio painting. When I look at this piece it still holds my gaze as if looking upon it for the very first time, entranced by the ridges of pure light and color.
