5" x 7" ~ Watercolor on PaperThis sparkling, red iris is painted in the bright sunlight. It looks so fresh and appealing. Maybe it's all the bright greens in the background that help to make the flower "pop". The lack of almost any pigment on some parts of the petals enhance the idea of reflective light. My irises leaves are about 7" up, and my peonies are forming buds. Isn't spring wonderful!! It's so exciting!!
