Ozark Lane app 6x6 Oil on wood panel

I cannot believe I painted this in a sort of pointilist manner. It had rained all morning on this autumn day. Painted from a sketch I made standing on an old road leading to a dilapidated log house. No paving, no fencing, just a deep-in-the-boondocks sort of overgrown place. But everything was wet, the drive was puddled, and the sun came out. I thought the scene, ordinarily uninteresting, had become extraordinary. When I was actually painting it I had to paint dappled sunlight filtering through thousands of wet leaves. This was what I came up with. Click the image for a brushstroke view. You can contact me at http://artistjohnwlong@live.com/
