"Trail to Oregon" ~ 9/11/08 A Painting a Day Hudson River School Luminous Landscapes Paintings by Connie Tom

This is another intense study that I did of Hudson River School Master, Albert Bierstadt, who painted back in the 1800's. I love to try to imagine what it must have been like for these pioneers who blazed the trail westward, their hardships and trials and seeing the country as it was back then. Enjoy!

"The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. The face of the Lord is against them that do eveil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all." ~ Psalm 34: 15-19
