Warp Galaxy watercolor painting (10 x 14) was done for an
Art Right Now Meetup group I belong to. The word for the month's
creative challenge was 'warp'. Although it was a difficult subject for
us all in the group, there were lots of very interesting work presented
at our meeting. Today's February challenge (Artists Way) phrase is
'just for fun' so I worked on another painting last night and decided to
post this to cover both challenges....I had to use multiple layers of
paint to get the very dark background. (It is from a NASA photo taken
of the galaxy, which is what happens when one galaxy collides with
another.)
Our passionate preoccupation with the sky, the
stars, and a God somewhere in outer space is a homing impulse. We are
drawn back to where we came from.
