12" by 12" acrylic painting on gessoed masonite. I have incorporated vintage map imagery of the orbit of the earth from an old book on astronomy. The circles with the collaged paper are on raised wooden medallions creates an interesting textured surface. This sunflower was a volunteer growing in our garden this year. The path of the sunflower's head as it followed the corresponding path of the sun across the sky inspired this painting. For sale in my Etsy store.
