This Suffering Servant Collage was a winner in VSA Arts of Wisconsin competition in 2005. It has been and will be part of a traveling exhibit through out the state of Wisconsin until 2010. I made this piece with every intention of creating a peaceful, beautiful face of our lord. Through several attempts to get it right, I became frustrated and started to rip back the paper. I finally left the piece and gave up. Upon returning to the collage days later, I noticed that it was the suffering servant that was looking back at me in my work. Collage is so interesting because you get effects that were quite unintentional.
