A commissioned wedding anniversary gift from my client to her husband, this painting has several hidden details which were very personal to them. She said his desk was always full of papers, he had a career in economics, loved the New York Times crosswords, their anniversary date was June 29th, his favorite color was red, it needed to match the colors in her fabric swatches and needed to be vertical. SO . . . result was this messy version of my own studio desk, folded letters with typed notes, a copy of the New York Times with their names and other personal information woven into the crosswords, a red book printed with the word Economics on the spine, a sticky tab "reminder" on the wall with the date of their anniversary, and another with a phone number . . . mine, of course, and my signature signs one of the letters.
