I absolutely love the small red pears on this chunk of cactus that I found on the ground one day. At first I thought the holes in the cactus were unattractive. But they became interesting when I set the cactus in front of an orange-ish wall. I like the contrast between the smooth yellow pear and the prickly texture of the cactus. (In fact it was so prickly I had to use pliers to move it about.) The color combination of rust, deep red, yellow and blue-green pleases me (it's always a small miracle when it does!) This painting's definitely one of my favorites.
