This old Spanish gentleman taking a break and surveying the village life going on around him was a subject I took a reference photo of with the intention of possibly immortalizing him at a later date. I have to take a break from still lifes now and again and I really enjoyed painting this one, but has taken me a lot longer than my normal small paintings.
