5" x 7" ~ Watercolor on PaperThorn & Brier & I went for our usual holiday walk today, at Potato Creek State Park. Surprisingly Worster Lake was still frozen over. But there was still the lovely stream for the boys to splash around in and that water wasn't too cold. We do love to swim. Along the stream there were all kinds of signs of our impending spring time. Lots of plants starting to shoot through the soil. Some large spotted, bulbous buds, about the size of a golf ball were very prevelant, but I don't know what they were. Maybe Jack-in-the-Pulpit? The rose I painted for today is very rich in color. The background is a very mossy green with lots of darks. Making the brilliant reds and operas and yellows really glow. Hope you like this little jewel.
