Pink Waterlily ~ Jacqueline Gnott Watercolor Studio

6" x 5" ~ Watercolor on Paper
Another of my Waterlilies. I believe this one I found at the Morton Arboretum in Illinois. I travel near and far to see what beautiful treasures I can find. The season is almost here for shooting lots of reference photos. You have to get all those great reference shots before our short growing season is over. Starting now, I have my camera with me all the time. I went past a huge Magnolia today and I could see the buds swelling. I said a little prayer that the upcoming snow and cold temperatures don't ruin them. Maybe they haven't matured enough to cause harm. We can only hope for the best. I remember my Mom's Magnolia in her front yard. It was a quite substantial tree, and when there would be below freezing temperatures, she'd have the whole neighborhood out there helping her cover it with sheets. It was quite the site, but it worked!!
