Lavender Flowers 5 x 5 oil on wood panel
I think these are a species of Heather. They are planted as a border on our hedges and I call them Heather whenever I need to call them something. I brought a flower stalk inside to study it carefully because it has a rather intricate conformation, and after I had it for several days it didn't look any the worse for wear. When I threw it out it still looked alive. But I did have to paint it twice , because the first time it looked for all the world like a ladies Easter bonnet.
