Painted two weeks ago in upstate New York, in the Hudson Valley region. This was painted on the grounds of the Vanderbilt Estate, depicting the mansionas the afternoon light was shining upon it with the sun descending. When one looks in the other direction, from the view of the mansion, one has a beautiful view of the Hudson River, the Showagunk Mountains and the Catskill Mountains. The Vanderbilt Estate is a National Park located in Hyde Park, NY (originally the estate was named "Hyde Park" and the nearby town took it's name from the estate).
The architecture and details inter-playing with the late afternoon light created an incredible amount of interest.
