Homage to Cezanne Still Life
16" x 20" watercolor framed
I admire Cezanne's paintings and even traveled to Aix-en-Provence to see the originals in the museum there. "So when I painted up this still life, I thought of the many wonderful paintings Cezanne produced in his studio which still has some of the vases and objects he painted a long time ago.
We even walked up the steep hill from his studio to the part dedicated to Cezanne which overlooks Mt. Victoire, the famous mountain he painted many times. The park has many images of the landscapes Cezanne made of Mt. Victoire since it was his popular spot for painting that mountain in his day.
If you are ever in Aix, it is worth a visit to Cezanne's home, his studio and his park as well as walking through the narrow streets of Aix and sitting in one of the many cafes on its boulevard.
