Owens River, California, High Sierra Fishing - oil painting by California impressionist Karen Winters

“Owens River - A Good Day for Fishing”
14 x 18 inches
Oil on Canvas

SOLD

In the shadow of the Sierra Nevada mountains, the Owens River winds through the Owens Valley, and is reportedly home to some of the best fishing in California. I caught up with some bass fishers at this location close to Big Pine. The name of the area is "Black Rock" or so I was told. In the late fall the grasses turn golden. It's a magical place, especially in late afternoon.

This California impressionist painting would make a great present for the fisherman who's enjoyed spending time at this cold, clear stream.
