Peony in the Light

In planning this piece, I wanted to paint an expressionistic rather than realitic painting of varied-colored peonies in a bouquet. The background and vase were left impressionistic and undefined. At the end, I only detailed the white peony which is the focus. I like the contrast between the red and white peonies against the darker background.
