Pink Blossoms, Chicago
Oil - 12 x 15 7/8"
Click here to bid on this painting.
This was painted in Chicago, Illinois in the summer of 2007. The painting was done at a large park by the Great Lake (Lake Michigan). I can't recall which park precisely, I am not familiar yet with the environs. I was there visiting my sister and there to attend an exhibition I was participating in, The American Impressionist Society. It is a painting of a tree with the beach and turquoise blue of the Great Lake behind it. It is a beautiful tree with pink blossoms and deep umbery foliage (I'm not certain what type of tree it is, perhaps a crabapple) which creates a wonderfully harmonious foil against the tones of the beach, lake, and city buildings of the distance.
