I've had this photo in my to-paint pile for about 2 years now. Originally I had wanted to paint the terrier larger than lifesize but ultimately changed my mind. I've learned to appreciate the value of an intimately sized painting. Seems like the dog's joy and the sunshine grows more potent when compacted.
