I think this is a little gem of a painting. I'm well pleased with the effect. Overall the painting is well done and harmonious in color. There is deft handling of the palette knife throughout and especially in the area of the lake or reservoir off in the distance. Also, in the house there is fine detail, in the windows, I must have used a number 0 or double 0 brush.
This is a painting of a "View from Tilly Foster" done in this wonderful conservation area in Putnam County near Brewster, New York. It was done at sunset in August 2008.
