Manhattan, Early Spring

Manhattan, Early Spring
Oil - 11 x 14"

This was painted a few weeks ago in New York city. This represents to me the feeling of early spring, before any buds have blossomed or leaves have shown signs of coming out, perhaps though a few hints here and there of yellow-green on a few early bloomers and the grass of the lawn. The scene shows the lake of Central Park on a clear, sunny, late afternoon day. Beyond the park the skyline of Manhattan seems to majestically hover above (I recognize a few of the buildings as the Citibank Building and ATT building).
