I saw these two ladies as I walked along the shore this summer. I imagined they were sisters, maybe twins even, who never got out of the habit of dressing alike. They seemed to be stopping to rest for a while before continuing their own walk along the shore. I started this painting with a wash of color and after deciding I kind of liked it just that way, decided to keep much of the wash in the painting, especially in the sky. It gave the appearance of a sky right after a rain. Anyways the painting looks a lot cooler in person than it does in this photo. I just posted this to my ebay auction site along with some other little paintings. check them out at http://midwest-fine-art.com/ to find out more about me and my work or to purchase an oil painting video, check out my blog at http://margaretaycock.blogspot.com/A Collective of World-wide self representing DAILY PAINTERS.
