When I painted this plein air watercolor landscape, I sat on the shore of a secluded little lake in the hills of Montana. Total quiet — except for the tweeting birds and jumping fish. No sign of man anywhere. I felt like I was experiencing what this part of the world was like centuries ago, when only the native peoples had visited it.
