Different Strokes-Chicks

 Close up

Oil on 7x5 gessoed hardboard.

This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. The very talented Kay was the gracious hostess who supplied all the reference photos.

The one little odd-ball chick caught my attention. Was it proud to stand out...or trying to blend in?? Great interactions between the three.

The board was lightly toned with alizarin crimson acrylic paint.
The oil paint was applied running the full gamut as far as thickness goes. From ultra thin wash which allows some drawing and toning to show....to laid on thickly via painting knife (on the odd-ball).

C&C welcome. Thanks for checking it out!
