BIRD WATERCOLOR PAINTING

[W]hat a severe yet master artist old Winter is....
No longer the canvas and the pigments,
but the marble and the chisel.
 ~John Burroughs, "The Snow-Walkers," 1866

Bird watercolor painting (6 X 7 inches).  I'm not sure what this bird's name is -- looking at the Audubon identification it seems like it is  a  'alder flycatcher'.   It was -9 degrees this morning here in Rhode Island and -32 with the wind chill and I don't know how these birds endure it, but they are very happy with the feeder near my window.
