I chose this quote to accompany my painting of a vineyard in the Franschoek area around Cape Town, South Africa. It was on the 4th of July in 2004 that I visited Franschoek and it's hard for me to realize that 3 years have passed without having painted any of this wonderful scenery. Surrounded by breathtakingly beautiful hills we dined at La Petite Ferme restaurant and winery situated in the middle of a working farm in the Cape winelands. My library of photographs and now this painting remind me of that occasion.
