Norma Wilson Original Oil/ Sammy Seagull

Sammy Seagull

6" by 6" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

I am blogging early today as I will be crazy busy tonight packing for my weekend up at Sean's graduation. I still have some last minute errands to run but still did a painting this morning. I did a similar version of this in a larger piece before. I just love this character! I have always loved seagulls because of how fun they are to watch at the beach but also because of what they symbolize....summer fun! I remember as a child heading to the ocean which was about two and a half hours drive from my home in Philadelphia. It was magical as soon as you get close to the ocean you begin to smell the sea air and hear the sounds of seagulls flying overhead. I am spoiled here in Chesapeake...you can see them all the time and my drive to the beach now is under a half hour! I can't imagine not living near the ocean as I have spent most of my adult life close to the ocean. One day I would love to live right on the beach and walk every day with my dog. Well, have a wonderful weekend and I won't be posting again until Sunday night.
