painting a Dog a Day by Kimberly Kelly Santini

"Duke," 4" square, commissioned pet portrait of a black lab, acrylic on canvasboard, private collection (THANK YOU!). Inquiries may always come to me.

Colors that fall opposite each other on the color wheel (called "compliments") vibrate when asked to sit side by side. Just like these blues and oranges.

Compliments make great companions when building a simple composition because, without any tricky brushwork or complex patterning, one can build immediate excitement and tension.

Thanks, as always, for looking at - and sharing - my artwork with your friends and family.
