This is part of my "Vedic Art" series. Durgha is the deity of illusion, Shiva's consort. Her job is to keep the conditioned souls trapped in the material world forever. This is Durgha with ten arms, representing the ten different material afflictions. The ocean represent the fickleness of being tossed by fate or karma. The bodies on the ocean represent the sleeping conditioned souls who are trying to enjoy this world. The lion represent lust who devours the living entities while they think they enjoy it.
