Our trip to Bonanza Creek Country Ranch this summer is on my mind, so I thought I'd post some of my paintings from Montana over the years. It's always inspiring to travel and see new countryside, but this state is something else. You can drive for miles and miles and never see another car or human being, and a lot of the land seems untouched by man. I never had to look far to be inspired by the "majesty" of this special place.

This plein air watercolor landscape was painted in Beaverhead County, one of the largest counties in the United States, but with only 9,000 population. The gorgeous mountains seem to be in the distance no matter what view you take.
