"Turquoise Calico," 4" x 6", done in Golden Open Acrylics on a Raymar panel, depicting a calico baby girl, $239 to the first one asking nicely. I'm readying for a day-long intensive painting workshop in October, which means I am reviewing my own processes and revising the syllabus accordingly. This will be one of the new exercises I'll share. This painting was created using only 2 paintbrushes - a 1/4" flat and a small round. Which means the image starts out one large pool of color, slowly getting sculpted as the marks build up, creating more detailed shape and form. The Value of Daily Creativity Next month marks the beginning of my 6th year as a daily painter. It's not been an easy road, by any means, but it's been a wonderfully rewarding one. In conjunction with my own daily painting anniversary, I will be giving a talk here locally (meaning in Oxford, Michigan) on the value of daily creativity. However, in the interest of not boring the audience to tears, I'd like to incorporate other disciplines into my presentation. You know, writing, singing, dancing, cooking, journalling, sewing - those sorts of things. I encourage you to share your thoughts with me via email.
