Paintings by Diana Moses Botkin Headed to Yellowstone Art Museum

I'm often looking for something unusual to paint. Or a subject simply catches my eye and makes me want to capture it!

This piece at left was in response to an idea I'd been thinking about for awhile. So, earlier this year, I named "plastic bag" for my blog Challenge group with these elements in mind.

The pineapple painting was also a Challenge painting (something that begins with "Pi"). I bought the fruit at the store, and since it was winter, I decided to set it on the frozen snow outdoors for a contrast.

I'll be packing up these two unusual still life paintings to go to the Yellowstone Art Museum for the 45th Annual Art Auction. These original oil paintings will be framed nicely and offered at the museum during the exhibition, beginning in January.

Opening reception for artists and art lovers will be held at the museum in Billings, Montana, on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 5:30 p.m.
