Fall oil on canvas by Margaret Aycock

It is too darned hot to do any onsite paintings unless they happen to be parked in a lawn chair on the banks of a spring fed creek so I have moved inside and gone through some of the photos that I have in my "Things to paint " folder and come up with something to cool me off.... a nice fall painting.  This was actually taken of me last fall when we visited Post Oak Lodge just a few miles from my home.  I loved that we happened upon a field that was ablaze of orange/yellow grasses at that perfect time of day whey the sun is low in the sky and just lit them up.  I decided to really put myself in the landscape and make me a part of the landscape.. ( in the Fall of my life) My hair the color of the background trees, my sweater the color of the foreground.  I just liked the idea of being a part of it all.  If you would like to visit my artist blog click, http://margaretaycock.com
