From Tilly Foster in August

Painted two weeks ago in upstate New York, in the Hudson Valley region. This was painted at Tilly Foster Farm/County Park in Brewster, New York in Putnam County. I felt a vertical format would encompass all that I wanted to encompass including the foreground fence and the beautiful big sky, but most important to the composition is the middle ground arrangement of trees and foreground which I found most beautiful. The view is looking south in afternoon so strong shadows convey the direction of light (to our right).
