Berry Street

Berry Street
Oil - 11 x 14"
Click here to bid on this painting.
This was painted last May (2008). It is a painting in my neighborhood, Williamsburg, Brooklyn done from the corner of Berry Street and S. 2nd St. (one block from where I live). It is an afternoon painting done on a cloudy, overcast, grey day. On the left side of the street in the distance is an American flag in front of a public school (which happens to be PS 84 Jose De Diego, A Magnet School for the Visual Arts.) To the right, much closer, the dark tree and car, which act as a repoussoir, brings our eye forward in space. A woman can be seen walking by on the right as well.
