The Owens Valley, between the Sierra Nevadas to the west and the White Mountains to the east is undergoing a transformation now that the Owens River is being fed once again with mountain streams. Willows and other trees are flourishing along the banks of the river, in what had become a desert. The land is in transition and this painting celebrates its resurgence - on a crisp fall day.
