Grandmas chalkware rooster, Barbara Pask

Hi there! I just completed this, painted from life looking at a very old chalkware rooster that belonged to my grandmother. This is oil on a 8” x 10” linen panel. I find I prefer the harder surface to work on, I did palette knife on the background and thought that worked well. This will be in a show in September and I’m working on a few others. I’ve painted outside some but it’s hot hot hot here, actually this Saturday I am in a plein air competition so I hope I hold up ok. Stay cool!
